about

Written in 2003, this track could more appropriately be called "Intro to George Bush's America 101". An epic beginning to the darker, "made from scratch" second half of DecadeLater.

Car Parts offers a glimpse at what life was ACTUALLY like behind the fake hollywood glitz & glamour of the 00's (aka "the new 80's")... a man unable to come to grips with what we know know as "economic slavery"... and his struggle to cope eventually lands him homeless living in his car in & around Philadelphia, PA.

Interesting note, this song may have been written in defiance not just towards society... but also MC Escher, who had just recently graduated college and was only just beginning his struggle with the economy... not ending it as Michelangelo was. His failure to understand, and desire to take the group in a different direction frustrated Michelangelo to the point of leaving Rhode Island, homebound back to Philly.

Car Parts was the last song created by TSA for the next 3 years. After it's completion Michelangelo & MC Escher parted ways, not speaking to one another for the next 2 & 1/2 years... up until just before their reunion in Los Angeles in 2006.

lyrics

Peace out daily grind. Can I sleep on your couch? Outta luck. Lord above, turn it up, for a buck, can I give you a ride in my house? I fucked up. So what. Still flow with the confidence & self esteem. I'm high beams you're daytime running lights. Snap out the dream.
